The views are great, but the place feels scruffy and a little run-down, like student digs or a Benidorm b&b. It’s 2km out of Baveno, up a steep hill, with no local shops. There is one very good nearby restaurant, Vista, about 800m uphill toward the next village. The pool is small, and there aren’t many loungers or much room to put your own.

A magnificent setting, with a great pool and garden. Entry is through electric gates, so the property feels safe and secure. There’s plenty of parking on site across two parking areas.

The hospitality was good, and it was exactly what we expected, with a bit extra. The lake views are beautiful and panoramic. We’ll definitely come back.

We had a fantastic stay at Villa Anna No. 4. The beds were comfortable, everything was in top condition, and the amenities were excellent. The terrace is huge and looks out beautifully over the islands. I’d definitely stay again.

The apartment is small and cozy, with a great terrace in a beautiful location. The pool isn’t huge, but it’s big enough to cool off in. With children, you do have to drive down each time, though we knew that from the start.
