Hotel Fioroni

Good value for money, with an excellent breakfast and helpful staff. The hotel is about a 20-minute walk from the ferry station, and the bus to lecco is only two minutes away on foot.

We could leave our bikes at the hotel, and I’d definitely recommend staying here. It’s about a 15-minute walk outside the old town, with a quiet location and a well air-conditioned room. The family running it were very helpful, and their dinner recommendations matched what we wanted. Breakfast was plentiful and varied. For a pretty route into town, walk via Pescallo. Bellagio is less hectic after 5pm, so I’d spend the earlier hours doing something else. I doubt you’ll find a better deal this close to the centre.

There was a loud, steady hum from a large electrical circuit in the room, only partly drowned out when the AC was running. I like to sleep with the AC off, and at night the noise was unbearable. My whole family struggled to rest. The circuit was about 10 feet from the bed, which also left me worried about possible electromagnetic waves and a health risk. When I mentioned the noise calmly at the front desk the next day, an older woman brushed it off as passing cars and said she thought it was normal. I found that response unacceptable. The room itself had very old decor and a strong moldy smell, probably from the poorly ventilated shower in its own separate room. Everything felt damp and uncomfortable. A rocking chair right in front of the beds added an unsettling touch. The hotel is far from the Bellagio, and the short walking path runs close to fast-moving traffic. It’s not a good choice if you want to walk around safely.

We spent four days here with our 8-month-old daughter and had a lovely time. The staff were very kind and helpful, breakfast was great each morning, and our room was clean and comfortable with a beautiful view. It’s a welcoming place for a peaceful stay in Bellagio.
