La Piccola Bellagio

Good breakfast, and the apartment had a kitchen for cooking. There were two bedrooms plus a living room, with plenty of space. It’s a good fit for a family or a group of 4-6 people.

The views over Lake Como and the peaceful setting made our time at La Piccola Bellagio feel special. It’s in a convenient spot, and the service was impeccable. More than just a place to stay, it gave us a luxurious but intimate way to enjoy the area. I left wishing I could stay longer, and I’m already looking forward to coming back and making more memories there.

We booked two apartments for seven friends for two nights while attending a nearby wedding. For two mornings in a row, roughly from 8:30 to 11:30, there was no water in our bathrooms at all. We couldn’t shower, use the toilet, or wash our hands from the taps. That water problem ruined the stay. The apartments are fine for a short visit, and the day after the wedding we were allowed to check out of one of them at 11:30 instead of 10:00 without an extra charge. I understand from what we were told that the water shortages, and the low pressure when water was available, weren’t caused by the residence itself. Things can go wrong. But we’d booked four months ahead, and the residence only told us at check-in, despite getting in touch during the final few days. Guests should be told sooner and given the option to cancel, with the risks explained. Given the water situation, I can’t give this residence more than one star.

The hosts were so welcoming, and we enjoyed the apartments and the lovely breakfast. Our one concern was the low pressure in the hot water.
