Hotel Mexico

The sea is right outside, the facilities were spotless, and everyone we met was genuinely helpful and friendly. The dining room is bright and airy, with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the shoreline. It almost made breakfast, lunch, and dinner feel like extra trips to the beach. The full-board menu stayed varied during our visit, with fresh pasta, plenty of vegetables, and more desserts than was sensible. The hotel has that warm, uncomplicated hospitality that makes the Adriatic coast so appealing. A few details for anyone planning a stay. We understood “all-inclusive” differently from the hotel's arrangement: drinks and snacks from the ground-floor bar were charged separately. The hotel says this is shown on its website, though we missed it. When we realized at checkout, the clerk kindly waived another rental cost, which softened the surprise by about 50%. We think it's worth mentioning. Our newly renovated room had patchy Wi-Fi. The signal fluctuated, and even when it seemed strong, both our phones often lost internet completely. Maybe that's Italian infrastructure or fine-tuning in a very new room; hard for us to say. In other rooms, the signal seemed much better. The new Junior Suite was handsome, but the door insulation could be heavier. We often heard corridor noise and doors slamming, though not at night. Our 2-year-old daughter's sleep is more erratic, so it seemed worth noting. The suite balcony faced the pool, which wasn't a big problem, but may matter to people wanting quieter, more private moments. One small billing oddity: our €500 prepayment arrived about €10 short because of taxes or fees. I don't remember this being highlighted at booking, though it seems to be Italian practice, so check at the outset. None of this outweighed the good food, real courtesy, immaculate facilities, and the sea literally on the doorstep. Clearer wording about the all-inclusive policy, which we both missed and may have been our oversight, plus improvements to the Wi-Fi and room acoustics, would bring Hotel Mexico close to faultless. As it is, it's still a great pick for a relaxed, beach-first holiday on the Riviera. We'd gladly return. Thanks to the team for the wonderful hospitality!

You can tell the family who runs this place takes good care of both the hotel and its guests. We brought our cat, and they made the stay really easy for us. The room was clean, the spa was cute and clean, and the pools were nice and tidy. Breakfast was delicious, and there are bikes available for rides around town. I'd definitely stay again next time I'm in the area.

We needed help getting our internet connection working, possibly the only thing that could be improved, though it may just have been a one-off issue in our room. Martina at reception patiently helped us sort it out, always with a smile, and we really appreciated that. We stayed at Hotel Mexico in August 2023, two adults and two children, and felt at home from the start. The hotel was impressively clean in the rooms, shared areas, and pool. We chose full board and enjoyed food that was tasty, varied, and nicely presented. Staff throughout, from reception and the pool lifeguards to the kitchen, dining room, and housekeeping, were sincerely welcoming and seemed happy to look after guests. We'd recommend the hotel and hope to return soon.

We spent four days here and wished we'd booked longer. It isn't cheap, but the value is very good, and the longer we stayed, the more we liked the place. There's free parking within the hotel grounds and a heated pool with a jacuzzi. The beach is directly outside. At lunch and dinner, you can choose from a daily menu of fish and other typical Italian dishes; all four of our dinners were good. Breakfast was plentiful and varied, with fruit, croissants, granola, ham, pancakes, omelette, and more. The staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. One small issue: hot water barely came through the sink tap, though the shower had plenty. We'd love to come back.
