La Nuova Quercia

We were so shocked by the service that we paid for the water and left. After our trip to Etna, we stopped for dinner, but there was no sign, welcome, or guidance when we arrived. We wandered in and had to try to get someone’s attention before a waitress eventually seated us and brought menus with our water. Barely two minutes later, another waitress came to take our order while we were still reading. She rolled her eyes and walked off without a word. When she returned a couple of minutes later, I ordered for myself and my daughter. My husband speaks some Italian and was trying to explain his choice politely. He paused for a few seconds to remember a word, and the waitress sighed dramatically and gestured for him to hurry. Then she huffed again, clearly frustrated, leaving him flustered and embarrassed. When he asked her not to act that way, she turned and walked off. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Only two other tables were occupied, and both had already been served. There was no patience, professionalism, or effort to treat us like customers, let alone people. We’ve never had such a disrespectful experience in a restaurant. Avoid it if you expect basic courtesy.
