Agriturismo Marco

The scenery is beautiful and the rooms are lovely, but there wasn’t much to do on the farm itself while I was there in March, and I was told they didn’t run activities. Getting around can be awkward. The bus stops right by the farm, but it only comes once an hour, the last one is before 8pm, and you usually have to take another bus to connect with it, so timing matters. The owners were friendly, though not especially welcoming, and mostly left me to myself. Breakfast is free and has assorted breads, pastries and yogurt. Eggs, local meats and cheeses cost extra. On weekdays there are no other meals, so plan ahead. Gluten free choices were available, but mostly packaged pastries like a gf muffin or mini cake.

The romantic rooms have a lovely view over Bergamo, and the people here are lovely too. Breakfast was nice, while dinner was fantastic for the price: 25 euro for four courses and wine. The red house wine tastes great.

We’ve visited many times and plan to return. It’s a quiet place with a manageable number of rooms, a good breakfast and, on request, lovely meals made with local produce at weekends and on festive occasions like Easter. The staff are very helpful, and there’s plenty to see and do outside the agriturismo for sporty guests and those who aren’t. Lake Como, Bergamo Alta and even a day trip to Milano are all within reach.

The view is spectacular and the staff were accommodating. My room felt a bit hot, and I wished there were a small fridge. I hadn’t realized the restaurant only opens on weekends. I think a spring or fall visit would be more enjoyable.
