We paid 35 euros in cash for two people on site. It’s a cozy, quiet place, a bit like a grandma’s cottage, with friendly owners and all the amenities at hand. The room, kitchen and bathroom were pleasant and clean. Breakfast was the typical Italian kind, and when it felt chilly on the first day, extra blankets were available. There’s also a spot outside to sit and have coffee.

Mr. Luciano and his wife were kind and left us to ourselves. They don’t speak English, and neither do we, but we managed with a handy translation device that Mr. Luciano had. The house is lovely and in a peaceful part of the city. It takes about 30 minutes to walk to the centre, though it’s quite convenient for the upper city. The airport is 15 minutes away by car, or around 45 minutes on public transport, which stops running early in the evening. The house wasn’t warm enough for us. The heaters ran all day but didn’t heat the place properly. Breakfast was another downside: it was just croissants and biscuits, with nothing salty. Still, we enjoyed our stay, and Bergamo really is a gem.

It was a clean, carefully maintained apartment with plenty of space and comforts. The place felt welcoming, and getting to both the city center and historic district was easy.

Stefania was always available and professional, and a perfect host. The location was excellent, everything was clean, and breakfast was great. We only got back yesterday, and I’d highly recommend it.
