Bergamo Inn 43

The room was a perfect temperature even with minus 3 degrees outside, and we could see part of the city from the window. It was spotless, the huge shower worked well, and the electric blind made the room pitch black for a great night's sleep, or a lie-in. Inside the beautiful building, our room had everything we needed, including a coffee machine for my boyfriend's essential morning coffee. There's no reception, but they replied immediately when I messaged the WhatsApp number after misplacing the Wi-Fi code. We were sent an entry code, and the place is only a four-minute walk from the number 1 bus stop, which connects the airport to Bergamo city centre. It's quiet, yet surrounded by great bars and restaurants. A perfect weekend stay. I'd definitely choose it again when I return to Bergamo.

I had a really nice stay. The room was easy to get into and very clean, and the staff were friendly, polite, and helpful. I'd happily come back and recommend the place.

Check-in was late, and the website gave the impression there'd be somewhere to leave our bags safely or use a toilet while waiting. Instead, I was told to leave the luggage outside our room and go to the independent cafe downstairs if I needed a WC. 😆 The building entry code didn't work, either. When I went into the bathroom, there was a wet, used towel left on the rail by the previous tenant. I was also charged twice on my card outside Booking.com, and still haven't had a response.

The check-in was chaotic. One morning, another guest tried to get in by knocking loudly on the door. The tourist tax kiosk froze several times, but charged me every time, four times in total. I sent the host my bank conversations and managed to reach them by phone and then WhatsApp. They said they couldn't help, stopped answering my later calls, and I still haven't recovered one of the charges. Their customer service was awful, and they didn't even say sorry. Shame on these bergamaschi. I wouldn't recommend this place.
