Bergamo Romantica

It's around 20 minutes from the old town, and a 3.50 euro ticket covers 24 hours on the buses and funiculars. If the line is long at the lower funicular, take the bus up the hill instead. The higher funicular has a better viewpoint and usually shorter queues. There's also a smashing Michelin plate restaurant at the top, with great views, and it's not too pricey, though worth looking up first. The hotel itself is lovely and the owner welcoming. Ask for a balcony if one is available.

The lady hosting us at bergamo romantica was incredibly kind and checked in every day, which made us feel welcome and safe. The room was clean, tidy, and spacious, with a balcony and en-suite bathroom. Even the cleaner greeted us in a friendly way each morning. The train station is just a two-minute walk away. We had a great short trip and I can't recommend the place enough. Five stars from the Liverpool girls!

Marco, the staff member I met, was attentive and always ready to help. The en-suite room was a good size, comfortable, and high quality, and the customer service was excellent. I'll stay here again when I'm next in Bergamo.

The shared kitchen has a microwave and a tall fridge, plus plenty of coffee, tea, sugar, and biscuits. Our room was clean and perfectly adequate, and having a balcony was handy for me as a smoker. Roberto was always reachable on WhatsApp and went well beyond what was needed, helping us find our way to different places and restaurants. Thanks, Roberto. It was an amazing stay in Bergamo, and I'd definitely come back.
