Palazzo Margherita

The garden, food, service, staff, and place itself were all impeccable during our honeymoon stay at Palazzo Margherita. My wife and I spent a few nights there at the start of our trip, and it felt like paradise in southern Italy. As a longtime fan, it was an honor to watch movies in a room the Coppola family used to stay in, then have dinner beneath the same gazebo where Sofia Coppola had her wedding. The hotel captures the best of Basilicata and the Coppola legacy. After more than a year traveling around Italy, I can’t think of anywhere better. We’ll return someday.

I didn’t want to leave Palazzo Margherita! The staff were kind and incredibly helpful, the food was amazing (especially the potatoes), and the rooms were lovely. Making pasta was a great experience, and now I know how to do it at home. The garden and pool were amazing too. I’d absolutely go back if I got the chance. Five STARS!! 🤩🤩🤩

We were already planning our next visit as we walked out the gate. This is a truly one-of-a-kind property that exceeded expectations in every way, a jaw-dropping, beautifully restored villa dating back to the late 1800’s. The food, management, and staff were all perfect. 10/10.

The hotel is beautiful and the staff were attentive, but we had a room issue that was surprising at this price. It wasn’t fixed during our stay, and the manager handled it very poorly and rudely afterward. That soured the whole experience and fell well short of what I’d expect from a hotel like this. I’d suggest saving your money and staying elsewhere. I wouldn’t return or stay at any of the Family Coppola Hideaways hotels.
