The location is central and very quiet, and the renovated two-story house is tastefully done. It has a small garden, space for two cars in a private courtyard, and room for as many as three families. Getting there is another matter: the access road is so narrow that you need the skills of a driving instructor, and a friend who's a body shop mechanic might come in handy for sidewall repairs. We stayed three nights. Downstairs there's a large eat-in kitchen with a comfortable double sofa bed, though it was quite dusty. There seemed to be more dust mites than residents of Bettona, and the cleanliness of the room needs work. Our linens weren't changed, and getting hot water in the bathrooms seemed to require three prayers to St. Francis of Assisi. Breakfast was poor and underwhelming, even by our modest standards. I'd go to the bar 50 meters away instead. Quiet mornings are hard to come by, with the bells of the church of Santa Maria Assunta followed by Ryanair planes overhead. In my view, the price is unjustifiable and far too high for the service provided. One plus was the modest Wi-Fi speed, since there's no signal anywhere in the house. Sincerely,

La Piazzetta has a lovely, clean, welcoming feel, and the service is so discreet it's almost invisible. The rooms make you feel looked after, as if you're wrapped in a soft, pleasant embrace. And yes, the view deserves a long description: from Perugia on the left, across the Mount Subasio area with Assisi tucked below the mountain, then Spello, the Apennines in the distance, and finally Foligno down on the right. Too much detail about the view? Maybe, but it's that beautiful. "* ¿ ! ? *"

Bettona itself is such a pleasant place, and the location made it easy to visit Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Foligno, Lake Trasimeno, and more. We spent Easter 2018 here as a family and everything felt perfect: peaceful, very clean, and Chiara, the owner, was so helpful. She also treated us to delicious breakfasts. I'd recommend it.

I stayed here with my wife and daughter back in 2005, and I still remember the splendid house and especially its library, which the owner kindly let us use. Assisi lights up in the distance at night, and the view is breathtaking. Everything was beautiful, and I'd like to return.
