Agriturismo Il Pornelleto - Villa Alari

Really nice place!

Our wedding celebration turned out beautifully, with the owners proving to be wonderful hosts. We were able to gather with all our loved ones, light the fireplace, and sing and dance well into the early hours. We booked Villa Alari and Casali Borgo to house 27 family members and friends. Both properties have the feel of old Tuscan homes, with exposed beams and lush greenery all around. It was magical to stay there together.

We were delighted to find that dogs are welcome, and we met some lovely people during our five days here: Silvie, Alessandro, and Patrizia. Silvie cooked exquisite meals, from appetizers including extraordinary panzanella to pici, ribollita, and delicious pappardelle. The main courses and vegetables were excellent too, and the desserts were always hers as well. It’s a well-maintained old farmhouse with beautiful original terracotta floors, a very comfortable bed, and everything was very clean. The bathroom is a little small but perfectly usable. The restaurant is one of Pornelleto’s highlights. The food was excellent, portions were generous, and the attention to detail in every dish was impressive. We spent five nights at this wonderful agriturismo surrounded by greenery, and Sylvie’s warm welcome, along with the birdsong, made us feel at home. It’s just a few kilometers from the medieval village of Cetona and well placed for visiting some of the loveliest towns in Umbria and Tuscany. We’ll be back, and our little Azzurra can’t wait either!
