Il Frutteto di Efesto

We loved this place. The view of Etna is incredible, the staff are so friendly, and the food is delicious.

It’s a very basic, rather primitive place, with no internet in the bedrooms and an open fireplace only in one room. The structure is still in its original upgraded condition. The hosts are accommodating, and it’s a nice step up from camping. There’s no bathroom ventilation, so it smells bad, and the bedroom stairs have no railing. The swings are broken and unsafe for children. There are few power sockets in the room. When someone flushes the WC or turns on a tap, the lights dim. The shower pressure is very low, and it’s hard to find a comfortable water temperature. We asked for eggs at breakfast and were charged an extra 2 euro per egg because we were told they were ‘fresh’.

We wished we could have stayed longer than one night, and we’ll definitely come back with more friends. My husband, our family friends and I had an amazing time. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all delicious. Our rooms were clean, comfortable and warm, which felt especially good after a few hours playing in the snow.

We visited in winter and got lots of snow and beautiful views. It was cold outside, but warm in every room, and the stay was super comfortable. You feel like part of the family here. My family and I will definitely come back, and I highly recommend it.
