I wish we'd had more than one night at B&B Il Garppolo Valtellina. I chose it as a chance to experience a small Italian town on our way to the Dolomites, and it became one of the most memorable stops on our trip. Quiet and scenic, the town felt like a postcard, with apple orchards, cherry trees, and fruit-filled gardens around nearly every home. Our host was warm and gracious, full of stories, and welcomed us into her home. She showed us her fascinating collection of antiques and rare finds from World War times and told us about her travels. In the morning she made us a delicious breakfast that felt like a real labor of love. When she saw how curious I was about the local cherries, she even brought me some fresh from her friend's garden. Such a thoughtful gesture. I'd love to come back and spend longer enjoying the peaceful setting, warm hospitality, and unforgettable cherries.

The views, room, breakfast, and welcome from Ivana and her family were all lovely. I especially liked the flowers, and Ivana gave me some narcicus and plum flower branches. She was so kind and helpful. Before we left this homestay, my husband said, “five stars babe 😘.” I'd definitely recommend this place if you're visiting Tirano and catching the train to St. moritz.

Ivana was the best part of our stay. She was so kind and helpful, and went out of her way to get us anything we needed. Her hospitality was off the charts, and breakfast was just as good. We loved our two nights at Il Grappolo, a gift from friends who know the area. We visited in winter for the Bernina Express, so it was pretty cold, but the B&B was warm and cozy. Our room had an incredible valley view and all the amenities we needed, including cable TV, a mini fridge, and a power shower. The handcrafted wood decor gave the place a lodge feel. A really great experience, and one we'll have to repeat. I can't recommend stopping by enough.
