Apartment Pine Wood

The beach is very close, which was the one plus for me. Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it: there's mold in the bathroom, doors and cupboards stick, and construction is going on right next door. The pool was shut on September 15th even though the weather was lovely. It doesn't deserve even one star.

We had a lot of fun with the entertainment, especially the crazy red boat, fly away, which my daughter and I both loved. The sea is only 80-100 meters away, depending on where your sun loungers are. The sand was clean and the water depth was great, though there was some grass floating in the sea a couple of times. It was hot, around 30-34, and a bit stuffy outside in the evenings, but the main street had plenty of shops, souvenir stalls, cafes, and pizzerias. We'll definitely come back. We booked a six-bed room through the Belmare agency on booking.com. An employee checked us in at the office and gave us the keys. The room was in good condition with just a few minor, non-critical issues. It had everything we needed for a holiday except an iron, and we didn't use many of the things we'd brought. The residence itself is nice, with indoor and outdoor parking. The rooftop pool was excellent, with clean, decent water, loungers, showers, and toilets, and there were enough for everyone.

The good location and clean beach nearby are the only reasons for the one star. The apartments are handled by different agencies, and we booked through Belmare. All three of ours were filthy: the dishes were sticky, with tomato residue that had to be scraped off. The furniture looked like it was from the 70s, and the mattresses should have been thrown out ages ago. Some apartments here have apparently been renovated nicely, but ours weren't among them. There are also owner-occupied units in the complex, and the rules posted around the place seemed to apply only to tourists. At 7 pm, Italians complained when people spoke another language on the balcony and laughed together. On the other side, ten Italians talked and laughed loudly on a terrace until 3 am, without anyone saying anything. Cars get scratched in the underground garage, and the power keeps cutting out if more than three devices are being used at once.

The apartment was lovely, and the building and grounds were very quiet. Restaurants and little shops are easy to reach on foot, and the beach is only a few minutes away. We booked through Europa Tourist Group. The rooftop pool was fantastic, with a lounger always available, and the kids had a great time in the water. We did have a lot of mosquitoes, and mold was growing on the wall beside the air conditioning unit. You could practically watch it spread.
