The cleaning was awful: sand and slaps were left behind by the previous guests. The building itself was run-down, the fridge was broken, and the windows wouldn’t lock. The cleaner said they don’t put anything on the fourth-floor French window to keep it closed, so it stayed open. That reasoning makes no sense to me. Maybe that would pass elsewhere, but not by average Italian standards. I had a bad experience this time.

Shops are close by, including two mini markets, takeaways, and a pharmacy, though prices are what you’d expect on the beachfront. Two small scoops of ice cream cost €3.20. The spot is right by the beach in a pine forest and seems good for families. The pool was nice. The bathroom has no window or fan, though.

We were in a quiet area, with a clean pool, and the sea was around 200-300 meters away. The apartment was very basic. A broken shutter and a gas shortage caused a couple of problems, but the agency sorted them out quickly.

The pool gets cleaned and looked after every day, and it never felt crowded. The location’s handy for the beach and shops, with Metro Bar, a great restaurant, nearby. The rooms look like they’re still from the 1990s or 2000s and could use an update. Still, it was OK.

Lovely view from the apartment. With the temperatures as high as they are now, some air conditioning on the first floor of this two-story place would be useful.
