Albergo Centrale Bologna

We keep coming back here whenever we're in Bologna. It's a charming, clean hotel, the rooms are well kept, and service is very good. Sometimes we get a suite, which is great for making a cup of tea. Breakfast is always hearty and complete, just right before a full day of walking around. We recently found the fourth-floor suite across the street. The window view is amazing!

We know Bologna pretty well, and this location suited us, about 10 minutes from the station. The rooms were clean and good, though a bit old and could use some care. The shower was clean, and there was always hot water, which is a plus. Breakfast had an excellent selection. Our room felt a little too warm, but that seemed to be the case everywhere we stayed in Italy this trip 😂. We'd most likely stay here again.

The location is great, and breakfast is okay. Noise was the main issue, from outside the room, including other rooms, people on the stairs, and reception, and from inside too. The mini fridge buzzed loudly, and there were sounds like dripping water. You can't adjust the temperature, and it was showing 26°.

We only stayed one night, and the room was among the worst I've had. The toilet door wouldn't shut, and neither bed had plugs. When I mentioned it, the front desk seemed surprised but did nothing to fix it. He just said he didn't know and was sorry. At least breakfast was quite decent and had different choices.
