The owners were so thoughtful and lovely, and the place has loads of character. I stayed in a large double with a little balcony over the inner courtyard and a shared bathroom. There's also a rooftop terrace with an incredible view, plus a small bar for a light breakfast. It's a family-run, old-school hotel right in the middle of Bologna, but inside it's peaceful and calm. Fantastic place, and I can't wait to return.

The family who run Albergo Garisenda were incredibly welcoming and friendly, and we really enjoyed the complimentary morning coffee. Our room and bathroom were clean, with a bar fridge and AC. The hotel is very central, about a 20-minute walk from the main train station, and there are lots of restaurants, coffee shops, and sights nearby. We'd highly recommend it for a visit to Bologna.

We were welcomed by warm, very friendly people at this family-run hotel, and coffee was offered free of charge. Our room was spacious and spotless, with its own bathroom. The location is very central and not far from the main train station. The hotel is inside a gallery, with a bar and pastry shop downstairs. I definitely recommend it!

I keep choosing this hotel when I'm in Bologna. The people who run it are kind and helpful, and the prices are unbelievably fair. It's a beautiful historic place, thoughtfully turned into clean, simple rooms right in the center of Bologna. Pretty much the ideal two-star family-run Italian hotel.

The two hosts made the stay feel personal, always warm and ready to help with whatever we needed. The hotel's location is hard to beat, right in the heart of Bologna and handy for exploring the city, and the value is excellent. The decor has that classic Italian charm, and coffee and drinks are available if you want them. We didn't need any, but it's nice to know they're easy to get and likely reasonably priced. For an affordable, cheerful stay with comfort and good hospitality, I'd absolutely recommend Albergo Garisenda.
