The room was really nice and clean, and the host was so kind and welcoming. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

I was left stranded in Bologna at night and had to find a hotel at the last minute, which cost me extra and caused a lot of stress. At 8:30 pm I got a text saying I wouldn't be let in unless I arrived immediately. With trains, planes, and traffic, travelers can't promise to reach a place at an exact minute. I booked this B&B expecting a welcome, but was met with rudeness and no flexibility. That isn't how professional accommodation should work. If courtesy and reliability matter to you, I'd avoid it. Bologna has plenty of proper hotels, so don't make the mistake I did.

The staff were warm and helpful, and housekeeping was especially thoughtful and charming. Just make sure they know when you're arriving. It's a fantastic place, quiet but convenient, with comfortable rooms and a pod coffee machine that's a nice treat.

The first night was unbearably hot. With no working air conditioning or ventilation, we struggled to breathe and I got no sleep. I felt like I was sleeping in the fires of hell, and saying it was 40C wouldn't be an exaggeration. The room faced what they called a courtyard, and when my wife opened the window, a terrible sewer smell came in. Luca agreed there was a smell and contacted the owner, who suggested pouring buckets of hot water out the window to clear a blockage. It made no difference. The standalone air conditioner was out of service while awaiting a compliance certificate from local authorities. We asked to change rooms, but were told everything was booked for the next few days. They said they'd try to sort something out the next day and keep me updated. After breakfast at a local bar, we knew we couldn't stay the other two nights. I tried calling Luca that morning, but he was busy and only messaged to ask if everything was okay. The owner didn't answer either. We returned late that morning, told the cleaner we were leaving, and she could smell the sewage too, so she called the owner in front of us. The owner apologized and said she'd move another client to make room for us, though we'd already been told the place was full. I said it was too late because I'd booked another hotel. She wouldn't refund me, saying she could return some money if they rented our room. It wasn't fit for anyone to stay in, so I don't understand how they could put someone else in it. After many messages since we got home, there was still no refund. I was told a bad review would get lost among the many good ones. The owner may say the room wasn't hot, that she never got my call, or that she offered another room, but that offer came too late. She has also accused us of making it all up, called me mafioso and a liar, and said we exaggerated nothing? No, we know what happened. The experience ruined part of our stay, and the owner wouldn't accept responsibility or resolve the situation. Photos and screenshots may help readers decide. Be careful if you're assigned the courtyard-facing room, and read the owner's response, because she WILL reply.
