Bed & Breakfast Villa Rita

The owners were kind, and the location works well for going between the coast and Puglia's inland villages. I just wish breakfast had a bit more imagination. We hadn't realized the accommodation was inside their home, with a curtain dividing it.

A convenient, quiet place that's easy to reach by car from the sea. The rooms are tidy, clean, and very well maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. I'd recommend it for a night or two, or if you don't plan to spend much time at the hotel.

We stayed in the upstairs rooms, with a separate entrance and a shared bathroom, just as you'd expect in a traditional B&B. The rooms and bathroom had what we needed, including air conditioning. Breakfast was simple but wholesome: coffee, toast with homemade fig jam, and very fresh prickly pears. The owners were wonderfully welcoming, and even offered me a lift to the train station when we checked out. They greeted us with water, garden tomatoes on frise, coffee, fruit, and homemade cakes, and we felt like part of the family straight away. The garden is fantastic and the area so peaceful. The property is a little out of town, so having a car helps, but it's well placed between the Adriatic and Ionian beaches and makes a great base for Lecce and Salento.

We felt right at home with the two owners, who were warm, dependable, and welcoming. The rooms are spacious and air conditioned, and we had a private bathroom that was attractive, practical, and spotless. There's also parking and a garden where breakfast can be enjoyed. A great place to explore Salento, whether you're heading to the Ionian or Adriatic coast or inland.
