Hotel Del Borgo

The room and bathroom fixtures seemed low quality. On arrival, the bathroom door handle came off, and maintenance used an aftermarket bolt to hold it and other fixtures together. The headboard was plain painted wood screwed to the wall, and there were plenty of other cheap-looking items. The room and bed were clean, and the front desk staff were friendly and helpful. I wish they'd enforce the parking lot rules better. One guest parked so badly that they blocked me and I almost couldn't get out in time for the airport.

The bathroom was huge and very clean, the water was hot, and breakfast was good with plenty of variety, though it cost extra. The beds were clean and comfortable, with plenty of blankets. The hotel is clean too, and our top-floor room had a window opening onto the balcony. A wall switch operated an actuator to open the skylight for ventilation. There were LED strips by the head of the beds, but we couldn't find a switch for them. Wi-Fi was free. There was road construction outside, which made finding the parking entrance trickier. The parking area has several spaces, including accessible spots, behind a gate that the female front desk attendant said is always open. The stairwell to the top floor had an automatic light that went off, leaving it pitch black as I exited the elevator. I felt along the wall until I found the switch, then climbed the wide stairs. The sink stopper adjusts with a handle behind the sink. Keep it closed when not using it, as that cuts down the drain smell. We ordered delivery to our room and gave them all the room details. We got two calls, but the front desk attendant didn't respond when I answered, as we aren't native speakers. My friend went down by stairs and elevator to reach the desk, and the female attendant immediately started yelling at her. The order had the room name on it too. That was very unprofessional. Everyone else on staff was friendly and accommodating.

Everything else was perfect: check-in went smoothly even though I arrived late, the staff were friendly, and the room was clean and excellent for the price. My only issue was figuring out how to get there from the airport, since I arrived late and the hotel seemed too close for a taxi.

The room was ready within minutes, and it was cozy and air-conditioned. I thought a three-star hotel in Europe would cost a lot, but this one was affordable. Ducati was closed on the Wednesday I visited, so I had nowhere else to go. I took a nap, did laundry down the street, and bought groceries across from the hotel.
