The breakfast was a letdown. We’d seen lots of good reviews, including on booking.com, but found only five yogurts, six croissants, some cereal, and no milk. There wasn’t anything like what earlier visitors had described, and it meant sweet buns with no protein if you’re staying overnight. The property is a small, private hotel in a renovated old house, authentic and beautiful inside. Our room was large and very clean, with comfortable beds, and the bathroom was clean too, with enough towels and toiletries. There were big bottles of water in the room. It’s far from the centre, so for visiting Bologna I’d pick somewhere else. For a one-night stay, it’s perfect if that breakfast suits you.

Filippo made our stay memorable, and the family’s service really did exceed expectations. Breakfast was terrific both mornings. My wife and I spent two nights at Loanda Corte Roveri, a historic building the owners spent 11 years restoring. The work is beautiful, especially the hand-painted details on the ceilings. Our room was renovated wonderfully, with a modern, high-quality bathroom.

This family-run hotel is in a beautiful 1700s holiday villa. The rooms and shared spaces are lovely inside, and several original fittings remain. There weren’t many guests during our winter visit, but the service was still there when we needed it.

The hosts treated us like family. They were kind and paid close attention to what we needed. I highly recommend staying here!

It’s an amazing old building, beautifully renovated with modern interiors. The low price makes sense once you see the industrial area built around the historic house.
