Hotel Metropolitan

Hotel Metropolitan is just north of the historic centre, a good spot for a weekend away. The rooms are comfortable and reasonably priced, with affordable luxury as the focus. Service was attentive and comprehensive. I had no issues during my stay and would recommend it.

The apartments are in a separate building, a short distance from the main hotel, and worked well for our larger group. We had a super nice room with all the amenities, robes and sandals for everyone, and everything was clean. I still can’t get used to the light switch layout, though I understand it. The blue bathroom light was a nice touch, and Pce has an elevator, which you can’t always count on when traveling. My favorite part was the quaint, awesome bar in the main hotel lobby. Julio, the bartender, was great throughout our stay and made us feel welcome. The drinks were great, too. Just be aware the bar is open from 1630 to 2230. I didn’t go to the rooftop bar because it was cold. The hotel is just off the main area, so you can have a peaceful, quiet day. For getting between locations, the main road is easier to navigate than the winding interior streets. It takes one minute longer but is much easier. I’d highly recommend the hotel.

The room was nice and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The front desk service was friendly, and this is a perfect location for exploring Bologna. The rooftop bar was the best part. Julio was amazing with the service, and bartender Aldo made excellent cocktails. We’ll stay here again next time.

The staff were the main reason we’d stay at Metropolitan again when we’re next in Bologna. Everyone we met was first class, from the warm welcome and hassle-free early check-in to the great roof top bar service. Breakfast was terrific, with lots of variety and everything made to a high standard. We were in town for the Radiohead concert. We spent our first night, Friday, in the city centre, then moved to a hotel nearer the gig venue for the second night. After seeing both hotels, I wish we’d stayed at Metropolitan both nights. A mid-stay survey asked how things were going. I said an extra pillow would have been nice, and when we got back to the room one had been left there without fuss or announcement. When we left, reception let my daughter and me check out and wait while we popped to the shop, then arranged a taxi when we were ready. It arrived right away. Highly recommended.
