The lockers were really handy. I could leave my bags safely and spend an extra day exploring without carrying them around. On arrival, I went straight to my room, which was very clean and had a modern, nice bathroom. The location is excellent, close to everything. The host was helpful and quick to respond, and communication was always easy. I’d recommend the place and would gladly stay again.
The room we got was in bad shape, and the balcony was hideous, barely a balcony at all. We were also surprised on arrival to find out that there are only shared bathrooms and that some rooms don’t have a kitchen. None of this was mentioned on the booking site. That lack of transparency alone means I wouldn’t book again. It’s very central, but for the price I expected a lot more. The stay felt like a total scam.
We paid around 50 bucks per person per night for a small room and stayed a week. The room itself was okay, but smelled strongly of smoke and was quite dirty. They only clean between guests, though the bathrooms were okay and cleaned fairly often. With just two shared bathrooms for all the rooms, mornings could get busy. We weren’t told until arrival that a gate locks the B&B from 20pm to 7am, and that coming in later costs 10 euro. Several times nobody answered us, so we got inside thanks to neighbours. Check-in was a mess. We were told the room wasn’t ready and left waiting on the street with our luggage for more than four hours, while our calls and texts were ignored. When they finally got back to us, we were made to rush over as if we were the inconvenience. Other clients had to be checked in before we could see our room, despite our long wait. The man then insisted we skip paying tourist taxes so it would benefit both of us, and included “cancelling” our booking. I didn’t find that okay. The place is well located and the rooms are nice, but the management is terrible and doesn’t seem to care about clients. They keep creating problems that ruin your stay. Not worth the money, and so unprofessional.
The air con was loud but barely cooled the room, and the hot water wasn’t hot. The bathroom drain smelled vile, and it hadn’t been cleaned properly. Several simple fixes were needed, including the toilet seat and sink plug. One bed wasn’t made when we arrived, so we waited a few hours for bedding and towels. There was also work going on somewhere in the building, so sleeping in wasn’t possible.
The two nights we spent there were awful for sleep. Traffic was very loud, and the owners’ dog barked early in the morning. The shared bathroom was dirty, with pubic hair, no toilet paper, and generally poor cleaning. The sheets smelled damp and dirty. Breakfast was a disgusting instant coffee and a small packaged brioche, hardly what I’d expect from a place calling itself a B&B. It’s not the best location, either. The price is way too high for this service. I wouldn’t recommend it or pay even half of what they’re charging. There are better places to stay Bologna.
