La Tenuta dell 'Orta

This is the Abruzzo I love, and I’ll definitely be back. The place has the basics rather than luxury, and I enjoy meeting people, so I’d never choose somewhere run by a computer again. We spent two nights here, and on the last evening we sat in the garden with two of Giampaolo’s lovely friends. Before long, it was 3 a.m. and we were still chatting. The house is a little dated but charming, with a gated garden where I could leave my motorcycle right outside the room, plus a private vegetable garden where we ate organic vegetables. The grapes were delicious. Our room wasn’t especially large, but it was comfortable, air-conditioned, and very clean. Giampaolo is delightful and friendly, always ready with tips on what to do and where to eat. We followed his suggestions exactly and didn’t regret it. We were right by the starting point for trails in the Maiella and Maielletta. And next time, as promised, I’d love to feast on arrosticini... hahahaha

Giampaolo made us feel at home and was always ready to help with our requests or share local tips. The room was quiet and lovely, a real gem. It’s also a great base for excursions and other activities. A wonderful stay, highly recommended, and we’ll definitely come back.

I was here on a business trip and found it a peaceful oasis in the greenery after a busy workday. It would also make a lovely stop on a road trip. The staff were friendly and very helpful, and the rooms were spotless. It’s a beautiful property, and I’ll definitely return. Thank you, and congratulations.

We stayed with the family on Easter Monday. The privacy and quiet of the place really stood out, and there are lots of nearby excursions to take. It was lovely, and we’ll definitely be back since we still have so many places to discover.
