La Rocca Casa Vacanza

La Ricca felt exceptionally orderly and clean, and the house was furnished with care, with everything we needed. Mrs. Emanuela and her husband even helped bring in our bags when we arrived, after greeting us promptly and politely. We stayed August 10 to 17, 2019, and felt we got to experience everyday life in the castle village of Bolsena. Lake Bolsena and the wider region have plenty to offer, so we recommend it for a pleasant holiday.

We were five, including children, and the house worked really well for us. The kitchen had the utensils we needed, plus oil, salt and dish soap. There were basic bathroom supplies, and the pasta and breakfast cake were a welcome touch when traveling with kids. Free public parking is a few steps away near the castle. Bolsena center is a short walk, about five minutes up the steps through the walls and past the houses, though driving back is quicker. The little medieval village is lovely for a peaceful stroll. I would come back to this place, but avoid the only delicatessen in the village. Its products seemed questionable despite being sold as special treats, and I suspect it relies on hungry, unsuspecting tourists. Five sandwiches cost €25, and calling them sandwiches is generous: just two slices of bread with one slice of ham.

The owner was very kind and helpful. The apartment in Bolsena's medieval village was clean, well equipped and comfortable for four, with handy parking just a few steps away.

We felt warmly welcomed, and everything was clean. The apartment in the old village of Bolsena is spacious and seems ideal for a couple with a child or a family with two children. The owner, who has children too, was especially kind to our daughter. I'd happily come back.
