The owner really makes this place, he’s lively, hands-on, and thankfully speaks English. The hotel is in a quiet residential neighborhood outside the city center, with plenty of transport available. They give you a bus pass and paid entry to the museum. Breakfast is a generous spread served by the owner: ham and cheese, scrambled eggs, rolls, croissants, jams, great coffee, tea, and wonderful yogurt. We didn’t try dinner because we were out exploring, though the restaurant serves it. Our room was comfortable, and the clean bathroom had a shower that was bigger than most and nice and hot. A great little place.

The hotel gives you a map and free public transport tickets for your stay, which was great. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the city center, and we found plenty to do nearby too. Check-in was easy, and getting extra pillows was no trouble. The rooms are basic but spacious and have what you need. I’d recommend it.

We couldn’t get into the hotel when we arrived. The door was locked, the shutters were down, the lights were off, and nobody was around. We called several times without an answer. After 20 minutes, we decided to leave and book somewhere else. Someone from the hotel came out then, but we still went. The hotel charged our Visa anyway. We can’t say anything about the hotel itself.

We had a lovely dinner here, with hearty homemade food, generous servings, and budget-level prices. The rooms are nice, and the setting in Bolzano is quiet. The staff were friendly too.
