Vintler Apartments

I’d seen similar complaints in other reviews, and ended up dealing with the same problems myself. I waited at the entrance for about an hour, confused and anxious. I was scheduled to check in at Residence Fink around 8 PM, and had emailed that morning to say I’d arrive late, but got no reply. There was no check-in information or access code. Nobody answered the provided number, and when I called the emergency number posted at the entrance, they hung up. After many attempts I finally reached a staff member. Until then, I worried I’d be stranded in an unfamiliar city without a way into the place I’d booked. A guest who had already checked in gave me the access code, but the reception door was locked. The sign said check-in was from 3 PM to 8 PM. I arrived around 7:40-7:45 PM, but couldn’t find staff or reach anyone by phone. Although the booking showed the check-in location and accommodation at the same address, the key and note I eventually got on the call pointed elsewhere. I had to search three times to find the actual accommodation, and the note’s directions were vague and insufficient. The place was listed as an apartment, but looked like a repurposed ground-floor space, with a bicycle rack and food waste bin right outside the window. The door had no label matching “11V” from the note, while nearby doors had clear addresses such as “11A,” adding to the confusion. I asked them to mark the entrance clearly and respond promptly to calls and emails so guests wouldn’t face the same confusion. I’m not sure anything will change.

The room smelled awful and moldy, maybe because it had been raining, and there was a garbage dump next to the window. It was extremely hard to find, with poorly explained directions. The check-in office was far from the actual accommodation, and getting from Bolzano station to the office was a long trip too. From the office it took more than 10 minutes to reach the room. The staff didn’t respond to any messages after check-in. It wasn’t really an apartment, but a basement converted into a space that didn’t even look like proper accommodation. Terrible place. Pay more and stay in a hotel.

There’s no parking nearby at all. The owner was unhelpful and refused to refund my booking even after at least two weeks.

Worst hotel ever. The staff are horrible!
