Bonassola was such a quiet, cozy little town, without the crowds of the Cinque Terre towns. Getting here from Bonassola train station was easy, with no steep hills or steps to deal with. The property was clean, well kept, and had great facilities, including daily housekeeping and free snacks, coffee, and tea in the room. The owner was friendly, too. It’s very close to the beach and includes free lido access, so we could enjoy a stretch of beach without the crowds we saw in Cinque Terre. The extra train fare to visit Cinque Terre, two stops to Monterosso, does add up, but for a relaxed place to stay between day trips, I thought it was worth it.

The owner stayed up late for me after my train was delayed, even though reception is usually closed overnight. The staff were polite, the price was good, and the recently furnished rooms were clean. It’s close to the beach and the internet was okay. I’d definitely recommend it.

The hotel feels new, or freshly renovated, and it’s only a few steps from the beach. The train station is about a five minute walk away, with trains to the Cinque Terre towns every hour. Internet is good and there’s a flat screen TV. Parking is the catch: there’s no private parking, though public spaces are nearby. You also don’t get a sea view. I’d still highly recommend it.
