B&B Emozioni e Relax

The B&B room was spotless and comfortable, but getting in was a problem. We had told the owner we'd arrive late, then tried calling when we got there and couldn't reach him. After waiting a while, people outside pointed us to a nearby restaurant to ask for the key. That worked eventually, though a bit more customer care would have improved my rating.

The place has just been refurbished, and there's a really good fish and pizza restaurant nearby. Lovely stay.

I was in Mantua for work, but calling this a night's stay is generous. I never even got into bed. Between 1:00 AM and 5:00 AM, I spotted at least six cockroaches and ended up sitting at the table in my room. One might be a fluke, but six felt like a serious hygiene and maintenance issue. At 5:00 a.m., after seeing another one, I chose to wait outside in the cold rather than stay indoors. The room itself felt neglected and dirty: dusty, with cobwebs and spiders in the corners, limescale in the tub, and shower seals caked with grime. The host's explanation was surreal, almost funny: “Unfortunately, in Mantua, it's like this when the seasons change.” Sure, bugs can be everywhere, but cleaning, disinfection, and maintenance matter too. I tried to reach the host during the night and got no answer. He was asleep, which is exactly what I wanted to be doing. The next day there was no solution, refund offer, or real apology, only excuses. I sent another message hoping to sort things out privately, but never heard back, so I'm posting this review with photos. I had no car and was stuck there, which is why I didn't leave. What bothers me beyond the insects is how the situation was handled: superficially, with no professionalism and no regard for guests. The owner keeps making excuses despite the evidence and says I'm complaining for a refund. For the record, my company paid for the stay, so I couldn't care less about getting money back. The only good thing was leaving the next morning. Absolutely not recommended.
