Casa Di Capri

Ernesto was a great host and really wanted everything to be just right for us. The view was wonderful, and breakfast in the morning was a nice bonus. The B&B was perfectly placed for reaching all the restaurants and shops. We had no complaints and will definitely stay here again when we come back to Capri.

There are just three rooms, and we had two of them. Sitting in the garden felt like having our own little villa, very relaxing. The place is small and charming, in a great location, and the owner was lovely and welcoming. Our rooms were a good size and clean. Breakfast was a feast, all home-baked, and the cook was so sweet. Getting there takes quite a few stairs and a long passage. Pack light, or they can carry your bags for €20. Highly recommended.

We left early, by 9am after breakfast, and there wasn’t even a thank you for our three nights at top prices or a request for feedback. There was no staff around during the day, and at 10:00pm on our last night we checked whether the patio was unlocked. It was, which didn’t feel very secure. The location is near the town square, but the climb and steps are steeper than at other places we saw on the island. For us, it was disappointing and poor value. I can’t recommend it to travelers coming to Capri from abroad. Maybe it would suit someone more local, though the rate still seems questionable. You’d be better off at one of the hotels. We also had a rough arrival. The directions sent via What’s App mentioned a luggage porter from the ferry area but didn’t explain that a second porter might be needed if you couldn’t manage the slight incline, 12 steps, and more little steps. There are two properties at opposite ends of the main square, and we weren’t warned or told which one was ours. The first porter took our bags to the wrong property, so we had to pay twice. We thought paying for the full job was fair, but Luisa didn’t apologize for the confusion or offer to cover anything. We waited about 20-30 mins at the porter station, and the porters said this wasn’t the first time the two properties had caused confusion. The room was too small for two people and two suitcases. We had to ask them to remove a large blanket from one of the two cabinets so we could fit our things for a three-day stay. They were the only hotel to give us a down comforter, which was overkill in August and took up limited storage space. The shower and sink plumbing need attention: it’s an old building and the drains were slow. There were also small ants in the bathroom. The breakfast cook was the one highlight, very sweet and a good cook.

We had breakfast served in the living room every Monday. The terrace had a lovely view and was very quiet. Such a great location and an amazing experience!
