Chalet Stelle di Neve

We stayed for two days as a couple and had mentioned that on the reservation site. The staff were friendly and kind. Check-in was at Hotel Baita dei Pini, so we had to go somewhere else first. Our room was clean and nicely arranged, with a kitchen and one bathroom, and it was just right for two. I did expect at least salt, pepper, oil, and sugar in an apartment, but none were provided. We were on the top floor in the attic, with no lift. The view was nice, though the apartment is very high up and we could only see the mountain peaks through the two large windows. There’s also a big garden where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the view, plus a small playground for kids.

For a holiday in the mountains, this is a good option if you don’t want to spend a lot. The apartments are okay and pricing is good; a few things are a bit old, but the place is clean. It’s close to the river, and the balcony view is nice. Bormio is a great location, and I’d recommend staying here.

The beds were new and comfortable, and the apartment was clean, but it didn’t match what was sold: the website photos suggest there’s a balcony, yet the attic apartments don’t have one. In that cramped attic, only one window looks outside, and four people would feel claustrophobic. For the advertised capacity of six, it would be hell. The walls are paper thin, so you’ll hear your neighbours throughout the holiday. The tiny corner kitchen had nothing in it, not even salt and pepper. At €200 a night, it was far too expensive, even in August. Best avoided. There must be other lettings in Bormio that are less cynically organised.

Parking is included in the price, and the chalet has fast, free Wi-Fi. The apartments are spacious and comfortable, with a washing machine, dishwasher, plates, spotlers, and pots. Bormio 2000 ski station is only 1 km away, and the supermarket is nearby at 350 m. Honestly recommended!
