Albergo Ristorante La Pigna

The prices felt very fair, and the rooms and dinner were both very good. Breakfast was adequate. I spent one night here with my son on half board, as we were in the area for a couple of days of skiing. This rating is really about the value for money. Worth trying.

The rooms were pleasant and clean, and the staff were kind and helpful. Most things about our one-night stay were fine, but breakfast was a serious problem. As someone who works in restaurants, I was shocked by the hygiene. There were three uncovered cakes, one surrounded by lots of flies. I avoided that one and another cake, then ordered a third, only to notice it was moldy and send it back. The croissants were stale and dry too. I understand not wanting to put out a wide selection for only a few guests, but food that's served should be stored properly and checked first. Aside from breakfast, I had no complaints.

The rooms were clean, nicely equipped, and very pleasant, and the food was excellent. Staff were helpful and welcoming, and the prices made this a great-value stay. The one small drawback was the lack of a savory breakfast option. I’ll ask about it next time, because we’ll definitely return.

We stop by this restaurant now and then, and the food is consistently good. The starters are delicious, and the first courses are especially good. I’d recommend it.
