The restaurant sits at the forest’s edge, about 1 km from town, with a breathtaking view across the valley. There are plenty of gluten-free options suitable for people with coeliac disease. The local food is especially well done: casoncelli with their aromatic meat and herb filling, rabbit with polenta, and even garden salad with thoughtful, well-balanced combinations. Some dishes have a lighter, more inventive twist, too.

The local wine was perfect, and the staff were cool and friendly. The food was fresh. Easily one of the best mountain restaurant experiences I’ve had.

The dish in the photo was so bitter from the coffee grounds that it was truly inedible. My wife and I had dinner here after visiting a few years ago, and it seems the management has changed. They’re now serving sophisticated dishes that stray far from local tradition, but the results were rather poor. Such a shame.

The service was excellent, and the portions were good, though the dishes felt overworked and small. I’m more used to hearty, home-cooked mountain food than Nouvelle Cuisine, so this fine dining place wasn’t really for me. The mood is romantic, not suited to a fun evening out. Prices are somewhat high, so keep that in mind.

The atmosphere was great, and the food was good. Everything was well prepared, and the friendly, attentive service made us feel at ease right away. The price was average and absolutely fair. I’ll definitely come back.
