We loved how local Borzonasca feels, and the little mountain village is close by. Getting to Chiavari or the beach is a beautiful drive through small Italian villages. The location also makes it easy to explore Liguria, including Cinque Terre, Portofino and Chiavari. The owners welcomed us so warmly and were always helpful. We felt right at home, and would absolutely recommend staying here. We’ll definitely be back. Thank you!

The room was spotless and lovely, and the scenery around it is beautiful and peaceful. Theo and Bruno felt like family to us. We’ve traveled all over Italy and stayed in all sorts of places, but this was easily our favorite. Breakfast was delicious, and they took us to a very local restaurant. We asked them to join us, and it was such a lovely meal. We felt like locals instead of tourists. We’ll be back.

After a long drive, we had a wonderfully restful night. It’s so quiet, with no mosquitoes, that we left the door open and slept almost under the stars. Morning came with the first sunlight and the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Breakfast in the romantic outdoor kitchen was a lovely start to the day. When we arrived, Bruno, his son, and his legendary dog were there to greet us before we’d even gotten out of the car. Bruno and his friends have built this place around a 300-year-old mansion, and you can feel how much care they’ve put into everything. They’re relaxed people who treat guests from all walks of life with real respect. You feel at home right away, like you’ve come to a friend’s place. Want privacy? You have it. Want company? There’s always a story to share, and a way to feel part of the adventure. We’ll definitely come back one day!

The best part was the original Mongolian Jurte, where you can sleep when all the rooms are booked. Casa Balsamo is a very nice place to stay, and Theo and Linda served a delicious dinner at a big table.

Staying in the Mongolian yurt was a one-of-a-kind experience. The fresh air was another reason I was glad I went.
