We arrived from Suffolk, England on 18th September 17, and at first I worried I’d made a mistake with this last minute booking. The outside looked dated, as did the bedroom furniture, and the marble lobby and hallways felt old. Italy has a lot of graffiti, very different from quiet Suffolk countryside. But by the end of the week, I loved the hotel. The meals were huge and really good quality. I’m 17 stone and couldn’t finish mine. There’s a bar and pizzeria next door that they own. The mostly family staff were great, the hotel was spotless, and the bed was comfortable. I didn’t snore once, according to my wife. We paid 98 Euros for drinks all week on the room number. It’s about a 25-minute walk into town along one straight road, so it’s hard to get lost. That’s the main downside, though at 43 I didn’t find the walk too bad. There are no buses, and taxis are expensive. The train station is at the bottom of the road: platform 1 goes to Herculaneum and Naples, 4 euro. At the bottom of the road, turn right at the church and Pompeii ruins aren’t far. Get an audio guide at the gates for 15euro. The blue and yellow buses for Vesuvius stop outside both Pompeii gates; get on and pay at the volcano top. I’ll definitely be back and use it as a base for Rome and Naples, then take the fast train to Rome over several days. Breakfast had cereal, juice, coffee, French bread, fruit, and yogurt. They served hot milk with the cereal, which I liked. My translation app may be off, but you can pay the room bill by card.

CP+++, cheaper, and just a 1 minute walk to the bus stop. You can take the bus to Pompei, and there’s a supermarket nearby too. Not bad 😄

The receptionist was a very nice lady, and all the hotel staff were lovely.
