Our only small issue was the noise early in the morning when vineyard staff headed out to work. We understood they had a job to do, though it felt like the sleeping guests weren’t being considered. It wouldn’t put us off staying again. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and we’ll be back as soon as we can with the rest of our family. The vineyard tour, four-course meal, and wine tasting were top class, and the views were stunning: the coast and Pompeii on one side, mount Vesuvius on the other, with vineyards all around. This was the highlight of our honeymoon in Italy, after visiting western and eastern Sicily and positano on the amalfi coast. Pompeii ruins, the amalfi coast, and Naples are a short distance away. I’d suggest renting a high SUV, especially for the guest houses, though it isn’t essential.

The only person who made us feel welcome was the receptionist. He was kind and helpful, and I’m grateful for that, since otherwise the stay would have been unbearable. The room itself felt like a cave, dark and without proper windows. Just a tiny one above the door let in a little daylight. Shower water also ran out into the room, and the doorstop did nothing. Breakfast was a letdown: stale supermarket bread, juice from a carton, no butter, and coffee like something from a German gas station. We tried it once, then went into the village for breakfast instead. The vineyard restaurant was awful too, with dirty chairs, filthy floors, and a bathroom that looked like it had survived a wild pub crawl. We’d arrived excited about a peaceful countryside break at Vesuvio Inn Bed & Wine Experience. The photos and reviews had us expecting a charming Italian vineyard stay, but things felt wrong as soon as we entered the room. I still don’t understand the high ratings. They could belong to another hotel, or perhaps have been bought. After this, it’s hard to trust any of them. We came for an escape and left feeling scammed.

Raphael and ALL the staff at the apartments and breakfast were AMAZING. When my wife fell and hurt her knee, they quickly moved us to a ground-floor room. They were professional, focused on making guests happy, and nothing was too much trouble. We had a wonderful stay, met lovely people, and the food was great, with plenty at breakfast. Since we had an early departure, they prepared breakfast for us before finishing for the night. We stayed from Dec 13th to 16th. You do need a car, but the location is perfect for exploring the surrounding area. There are lots of places to eat within a few miles, and the food is great and cheap. I’d recommend visiting in a quieter period, since during the busy season you may not get a room. That says a lot about the place. When the airlines let us book through the end of December, we’ll certainly come back. Thank you for an unforgettable time!

I’ve traveled all over the world, but I’ve never met a receptionist less service-minded or more disrespectful than this one. My Booking.com review simply said the receptionist wasn’t friendly and didn’t make us feel welcome, and I gave 5 out of 10. The reply was completely disrespectful and included false accusations, the same response as here. We did have trouble renting a car and getting to the property. In the end, a friendly Swedish couple gave us a lift, and they also noticed how rudely the receptionist spoke to us. We never claimed we had car trouble just to get a free ride from the hotel, as he says. It’s strange to see someone in hospitality accuse guests of that. He called our visit to the swimming pool “the cherry on the cake,” which was inappropriate and absurd. We arrived shortly before closing because he had shown us an unmarked shortcut through the wineyard from where we were staying, and we got lost. Was that responsible? We only sat by the pool with other guests for 15 minutes after closing, and wouldn’t have dared go in the water. His claim that we made things complicated for the operation isn’t true. He didn’t help us. The claims that we were nervous and that my partner was screaming at me are also false. This was thankfully the only such bad experience I’ve had while traveling around the world for both work and pleasure.

At the off-site apartment, the bathroom and bedroom could have been cleaner when we arrived. The shower didn’t drain well, and the drain itself wasn’t working properly. I know housekeeping isn’t provided during the stay, but the apartment should be clean at check-in. The Wi-Fi only worked in one corner, which made it hard to use elsewhere, and phone service was unreliable in the building too, especially on TIM. The location was convenient and the general atmosphere pleasant, and I appreciate the staff’s effort to make us comfortable. With better cleaning and Wi-Fi, this place could offer a very good stay. Edit: The owner is claiming I didn’t stay here, so I’ve added screenshots of my WhatsApp conversations with them as proof that I did.
