Dinner portions were generous, though there was no choice of dishes. The small bar and café had very friendly, helpful staff. Our room was large, with a roomy balcony overlooking the lake, a comfortable bed, a beautiful en suite, and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety of bread and pastries, meats, cheese, and yogurt.

A nice atmosphere and very friendly staff make this hotel well suited to a holiday with family or friends. There’s a basketball court and a store nearby, and the lake looks beautiful from the window.

The view was great, but I can’t recommend this hotel after our stay. Our rooms were disgusting when we arrived: blood on the blankets, lots of long black hair, and even bugs in a pillowcase. The bathroom door had a hole, mold was starting in a shower corner, and the table was dusty every day even though we checked. When we returned from a trip on Tuesday, my roommates and I also found blood on the bathroom wall, and it wasn’t ours. The mattresses were so hard that I often woke up with back pain. We told someone at registration, but she seemed annoyed. Some kids from my class had already complained about room problems. They replaced our bedding quickly, though the new bedding was very thin. Breakfast was okay, with limited options, but they refilled things when they were nearly gone. Dinner was awful. The starter and dessert were the only edible parts, and the starter portions were so large that one staff member made my friend finish even though they couldn’t eat another bite. Staff also seemed unsure about who could eat what: classmates who avoided certain meats for religious reasons were served those meats. Most of the food was cold, and the main course was inedible. My whole class had stomach aches after eating it, and on Tuesday someone was even forgotten and got no main course. If you do book here, check carefully for blood stains and eat somewhere else if you want to avoid stomach cramps.

The staff were nice, and the outside of the building looked good. Inside, though, it’s dated, just as the photos show. We booked for two adults and a three-year-old through Booking, expecting a room with an enclosed shower, but got one where the shower was open onto the floor. Even a quick shower left the floor soaked. There were no basic things like bottled water, a glass, or a spoon, and reception closed very early. The room key card has a chip that controls the lights. When I had to go to the car, all of us had to leave together so nobody was left in the dark. The hotel has a lot of potential, but needs a few small improvements.
