Back in 1973-74, I spent two years living there and had a great time. We were all students or workers, around 18 to 27 years old. It was a different era, sure, but the place was clean and affordable.

I paid 30 euros for a 5-square-meter room without heating, in a building that was close to falling apart. The way I was treated was rude and dismissive. I won't go back.

The cooperative keeps the hostel in good shape, and the spaces are new and roomy. The community for minors is lovely in its simplicity.
