Regal Residence

I didn't use the pool, and the bicycles were broken, so I can't comment on those. For the price, breakfast at €5 was decent, though a café or pasticceria nearby would have better options. There are lots of little caffès and bars close by, and the town is nearby too. The location was great, just two minutes from two metro stations and a few minutes from shops and restaurants. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The beds were good, a large double made from two singles with a crease in the middle. WiFi was okay, and the TV only had regular Mediaset channels, no Sky, so it was boring. My room was dusty enough to leave my feet dirty if I walked around barefoot. The air conditioning made me sneeze and cost me some sleep. The extractor fan was loud and seemed broken, since it didn't clear the shower moisture. They hadn't refilled the soap. It worked well for me because I was travelling a lot and didn't spend much time at the hotel. If I planned to relax there longer, I'd probably look elsewhere.

I was disappointed by our stay. The one good part was the staff: when we asked to change rooms after the first night because ours had a distinct bad smell, they were helpful and moved us the next day. The pool was under maintenance for all three days we were there, with the explanation given in Italian. The hotel was dated and didn't look like the pictures. Breakfast was poor, served in plastic containers with plastic glasses, a nightmare for guests who care about the environment. I wouldn't stay again, it wasn't worth the price.

The kids came away covered in insect bites, and we couldn't sleep properly because the room hygiene was so bad. We were offered a different room, but insects were crawling all over that one too, ants on the floor and what looked like bed bugs on the beds. Breakfast was good, but the hotel was horrible.

We'd left another place because it was completely unacceptable, and Enzo looked after us when I called about a room. He put us in a clean king suite with everything we needed. We were there in winter, so we didn't try either pool, but we had a good meal at the attached Indian restaurant. Thanks, Enzo.
