Alois was welcoming and friendly, gave us clear directions, and even came by during our stay. We had a lovely chat over tea. Speaking German or Italian helps you connect with him more easily. We also loved Alois's cat, Mena, who was adorable and friendly. The house sits high on a mountain, away from city noise, and was a wonderful place to enjoy nature and quiet. It was just the two of us, but we booked the whole spacious unit, which could easily sleep seven or more. The drive there was scenic and enjoyable, especially since we're used to remote mountain destinations. We'd love to come back, and recommend it to anyone after a peaceful mountain escape.

The rooms are spacious, but with a group of six, having only one bathroom was inconvenient. Getting there meant driving up narrow roads, which felt very dangerous at night. There's nowhere nearby to get food, so bring some with you; the main market is at least a 20-minute drive. The host doesn't speak English, which made things difficult.

There's little around this Airbnb, so bring food or things to cook with you. The closest restaurant is more than a 15-minute drive away. Getting to register was strange too: the host doesn't speak English and took our original passports away. That's not something I've encountered elsewhere. Checkout is at 9am, which feels far too early for a house with just one bathroom.

We left the place in mint condition, but after I stayed there with Indian friends, host Alois said we had left it smelling bad. That feels awfully much like racism to me. I wouldn't recommend this host.

There’s very little here for children beyond a swing, and not enough room for them to play. The location is isolated, and the narrow roads make driving stressful. It really doesn’t feel suited to families with kids. Next time I’d rather pay a bit more than stay somewhere this lonely.
