The house and its location were lovely, with beautiful views. The photo shows what you can see from the window. Finding it was a stressful half-hour, though. The map first sent us to the flooded middle of the upper village. After we got new directions, it took us too far down the valley, right into a farmyard. Written directions would help, something like: just before the tunnel, turn left at the petrol station, beside the Grand Hotel.

The apartment was cosy, peaceful, and had everything we needed. The staff were really helpful. Since we were skiing, we kept our gear in a locker near the slopes. In the morning, we could walk to the lift in about 10-15 minutes using the path to the left of the tunnel. Driving was another option, with free car parks available.

We were five adults staying at Maison Carrel 12 for a week, and the view was something else. The chalet’s unusual layout worked well for us: one bedroom with its own bathroom is only reached via the balcony, but we found that very convenient. The kitchen was well equipped, though we did miss a baking dish for the big oven. The table folds away easily, as does the sofa bed.

We had everything needed for a great ski vacation, including garage parking and the necessary amenities. The apartment was spacious and clean, and the host made us feel welcome. Amazing place to stay.

The room was clean and comfortable, and the price was lower than for a similar room. It’s about a two-minute drive to the village, so this is a very cost-effective option.
