La Cresta Chalet

Michela & Bruce made us feel welcome and took great care of us during our week at La Cresta Chalet with the family. La Cresta Suite was just right for our spring break, and the view across the mountains & village was beautiful. I’m looking forward to another trip to the Matterhorn and a return stay at La Cresta.

We had another great stay at La Cresta. The accommodation and food are top quality, but what really sets it apart is the level of service.

It feels like a home, even though it’s a five star hotel in every way. The caring family owners are involved and oversee everything. The rooms, service, food, and mountain-side setting in Cervinia are hard to beat. Our room had its own Jacuzzi and a Harvia Sauna, plus a huge waterfall standing shower and lovely views of the mountains and part of town. We booked half board, so dinner was included. It was excellent, with four courses that changed daily. Breakfast was light but plenty, and we could look at the menu and choose while having it. There’s also a permanent four-course "tour" option. The chef is a young Italian phenom from the area. I spoke with him about where they source local ingredients. Amazing Italian and French staff served the food and drinks. They basically took care of everything, from the shuttle and ski rentals and returns to booking lessons. The ski room has specialized heated lockers for boots and gloves. The shuttle service valets all the equipment and picks you up. What a trip, what a hotel, what a mountain.

La Cresta Chalet felt like family, especially after I had a bad wipeout on the mountain. They brought all four courses of another fabulous dinner straight to our room, and even delivered a bag of snow to help with the swelling and pain. The staff’s customer service and family atmosphere were incredible, and the chalet pup, sweet, sweet Mia, came to say goodbye on our last day. It was so hard to leave, and this definitely won’t be our last stay at La Cresta Chalet. We spent Christmas there, and from the moment we arrived the staff made us feel at home with warm, attentive service. The chalet balances luxury with coziness, and the beautiful suites have spa-style touches, including an in-room personal sauna that was a game changer after snowboarding. The location was perfect for reaching Cervinia’s slopes, with easy ski-in, ski-out passage to some of the best runs we’ve experienced in Italy and Switzerland. Riding right under the vail of the Matterhorn was unreal. All in all, it was a magical mix of comfort, luxury, and outstanding hospitality.
