Villa Maria Carmela

This was a really unpleasant stay. We booked two apartments by phone in March for a thousand euros and paid a three-hundred-euro deposit. When we arrived in August, we expected to pay the remaining seven hundred, but were told there was an extra fifty per apartment for daily cleaning. Nobody had mentioned that charge beforehand, and the cleaning was never done. The apartments also came without towels, sheets, or toilet paper. The website does say sheets aren’t provided, but that wasn’t explained on the phone since we hadn’t booked through Booking.com. Kitchen utensils were in terrible condition, too. There’s also a one-euro-per-night accommodation charge. That’s fair enough, but it isn’t listed on the website either. Given the general condition of the place, it felt like a rip-off. I wouldn’t recommend it.

We had a great week here. The owner was really helpful and gave us tips on places to visit and restaurants to try. Definitely five stars, well deserved. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The sea was fabulous, and the villa was comfortable, welcoming, and, above all, clean. It had the kitchen utensils we needed, plus air conditioning and a washing machine, which was essential. There was also a veranda with sofas and a gazebo-style umbrella. The owners were kind and helpful, and the people around were friendly too. A wonderful place, I’d recommend it to everyone.

I’ve been here twice, in 2017 and 2019, and hope to come back this September. The structure is clean and has air conditioning, and it’s got everything you need. The best part is the spectacular sea, especially Tropea and Zambrone, which I love most.
