Agriturismo La Casetta

The fixed-price meal was very generous: three mushroom appetizers, a first and second course, dessert, coffee, and a liqueur, all you can eat, with white and red wine too. The mushrooms were fresh and full of flavor. Monica welcomed us with a warm smile, and her cooking and service were excellent. We loved the family atmosphere, the prices felt very fair, and we'll be back and telling people about it. BRAVISSIMI

The food was awful, from the three homemade cured meats to the first courses, which were even worse. I kept hoping the second course might improve things, but dessert arrived at the same time, and appearances seemed to be the priority. We had trusted the good reviews, but the place was remote and looked like an abandoned farmhouse. There were only a few tables inside, set up for everything except plates and dishes. The owner, I think, greeted us in a torn shirt and boots, which didn't seem right for table service, though I'll let that pass. Calling it an agriturismo feels like too much; I honestly can't understand how it's still open. I hate saying this, but people should know not to expect anything.

The cotechino pizza was excellent, and so was the seasonal vegetable one. The pizza chefs clearly know their craft, using ingredients grown on the farm to make flavors you don't get at regular pizzerias. The beer was good too, and the prices fair. I recommend the agri-gyropizza evening.

Monica's kindness and excellent food helped make our son's First Communion a special day. We were honored to meet her. The location was lovely, with a beautiful panoramic view, and the service was excellent too.
