The photo below shows the hotel bar mentioned on the website and on Booking.com. The bed I slept in was partly broken. :(

It was easy to communicate with the friendly owner, and the location was close to the city center while still quiet and peaceful. The rooms were clean and well equipped, with fresh towels each day. There was a kettle and coffee maker in the hallway. I’d definitely recommend it!

We were left with nowhere to stay in the middle of the night, after 11 p.m., while already standing outside. The owner canceled our reservation by text rather than through the website, said the property was closed because of COVID, and asked for our account number. I spoke to one of the guests, so I don’t know why he said that. Maybe he had double-booked. I believe he was trying to extort money. This was unacceptable and a nightmare. The police got involved and were very helpful. The owner, unlike them, was simply dishonest.

The place looked wonderful online, and the price seemed justified, but the apartment itself was a disappointment. There was rubbish and dust throughout, the kitchen cupboard was neglected, and the dishes still had food on them from previous guests. The fridge smelled and looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned after defrosting, and there were leftovers on the plates. There was also about 3 kilograms of dust hanging over the kitchen. Communication with the owner was the biggest problem. I understand Italians may not speak English, but Google Translate would have helped. Instead, she grimaced and raised her voice, which made talking with her unpleasant. I’d read other reviews about bad experiences with the owner before booking.
