Scirocco Guest House (Adults Only)

The elevator only goes up from the ground floor, so I had to carry my luggage down the stairs from the guest house. I was in Room 1, right by the main entrance, and could hear guests coming and going. The bathroom floor had hair on it throughout my two-week stay, and the kitchen fruit basket had moldy fruit. The washer was left full of sheets and towels overnight by the cleaning service, and there was no laundry detergent, even though laundry was included in the advertisement. Fine for one night, but I wouldn't recommend it for a longer stay.

We left and found somewhere else to stay after they couldn't provide the accommodation we had paid for: a suite for three and an extra room for one. They also tried to charge us extra for the third person, despite that person already being confirmed and paid for. They said Booking.com had listed rooms the Guest House didn't actually have and caused the overbooking. Afterward, Booking.com couldn't get us a refund, and the host kept refusing, telling them the rooms had been provided when they never were. We had been told in person it was Booking.com's fault, but they still wouldn't refund the accommodation they couldn't fulfill. Avoid this place.

The kitchen was spotless and we cooked there almost every day. Shops were within walking distance, there was on-street parking for our car, and a bar around the corner had the best cornetti and cappuccino. Our 21-day stay in Room 1 with its private bathroom felt like being at home. The room was very comfortable and VERY clean. Daniele answered our questions quickly, and Dorina made sure the rooms were clean, breakfast was ready, and fresh sheets and towels were supplied. She's VERY attentive to detail. This is a gem of a bed and breakfast, and we highly recommend it. We'll be back next year for a month. Thanks to everyone who made our stay wonderful! Thank you!! - Stacy & Antonio

The room was huge, nicely equipped and extremely clean. Sheets and towels were changed about every two days, and breakfast snacks were left and replenished in the room each day. It had air conditioning and a balcony looking out onto the road. The kitchen had a full-size fridge, though I barely used it. There was even soap and shampoo in the bathroom, and the big showerhead gave plenty of hot water. I take long showers, so I can confirm that! I'd happily stay here for half the year if it were available as a long-term rental. One thing during my stay may not affect other guests: the host had to change the front door keys halfway through, which took me by surprise. They were able to open the door remotely when I arrived that evening. The occupancy tax for this guesthouse is paid in cash, so bring some with you before you leave.
