Villa Adele B&B

We spent the evenings watching a beautiful sunset from our first-floor room, and made use of the pool too. The room was always clean, and it was wonderfully peaceful. Such a unique spot among the olive trees of Puglia.

A spacious terrace gives you a panoramic view of the Salento countryside, with its olive groves and vineyards. It's especially lovely at sunset, or in the strong midday sun. Our room was clean, with new furnishings, scented sheets, and a coffee maker. The prices are very competitive, and the staff were helpful.

I booked three nights, but left after the first. The ground-floor quadruple room was so damp that my shoes were nearly wet by morning. I ended up laying towels on the pillows and under my shoulders, and the sheet looked as if it had already been used. There was a used filter left in the coffee maker, the bathroom bin hadn't been emptied, and only a few sheets of toilet paper remained, with no spare roll. The place was full of insects and cobwebs. I had to sweep leaves, ants, and both dead and live bugs away from the door myself. There were dead insects and cobwebs in the hallway corners, a spider in the bed, and dead bugs under the curtain. In the double room there was just one chair, so we took turns sitting for breakfast. When I told the owner why I was leaving, he barely reacted and didn't offer to reduce the charge. 50 euros wasted on a sleepless night.

A parking area is available, and you can pay by card. The staff were friendly, and the room was spacious, fairly new, very clean, and had everything we needed. The location is secluded and so quiet we didn't hear a thing. Great for a night before taking the ferry.
