Ambra is a lovely little village, with cute shops and a really good butcher. I’d love to come back for a week and use Fra I Mesi to explore Siena and the nearby villages. Silvia, Franca, Meri & Adriano made me feel welcome from the moment they greeted me in person. They’re lively, funny, and incredibly helpful. I arrived by train in Bucine and took the local bus to Ambra, and Silvia and Adriano offered to help with getting around. When my friend didn’t show up to take me to the wedding at a local villa, they came to get me within minutes of my text and drove me there. Adriana also took me to my departing train in Bucine. Fra I Mesi is in a restored historic building right in the village center, overlooking the square. My room combined original features with modern conveniences. It was spotless and comfortable, with lovely linens, an antique armoire, and an iron for my wedding suit. Big windows in both the bedroom and bathroom let in plenty of light and fresh air. Thanks to my new friends Silvia, Adriano & Meri for introducing me to Tuscan la dolce vita.
