Borgo Iesolana Country Retreat

That field behind the hotel was a real highlight. We played football there many times with our baby and loved it. The room was spacious, the views were great, and the pool was beautiful. Breakfast could use more local touches, and the place felt a little impersonal. We also had to pay €10 a night for a baby bed, which seemed unnecessary. The laundry was a much bigger problem: we handed it in ourselves, but bleach ruined everything, and nobody apologized at checkout. Basic care for laundry should come with the service. It was fine overall, though there are nearby places at the same price that feel warmer and more attentive.

The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and breakfast was lovely. There was plenty to choose from, the coffee was delicious, and the selection changed a little each morning. The pools were peaceful too, with everyone respecting the quiet, and we were often the only ones in the water. But Archi 1 was really disappointing for the price. The photos make it look bright, while the room itself felt dark, dated, and cramped. We stayed with our son, and once the sofa was set up as a bed, there was no room to stand, put luggage, or sit comfortably. I often ended up on the floor because there was nowhere else to sit besides the bed. There was only one window in the room. The bathroom window looked straight onto the restaurant seating area, and its sheer curtain didn’t cover the whole window, so we asked for another one. Letting in light meant giving up privacy. The room also had very few amenities, with no bathrobe or slippers. Wi-Fi barely worked unless you stood by the door, and even then it was poor. Dinner at the trattoria was overpriced. The atmosphere was amazing, but the food was average. They have a daily special, which is a nice idea, though I was surprised to get meatballs with no pasta or side dish. They did accommodate the children’s requests, which we appreciated. I wouldn’t recommend the Archi room. If that’s the only one available, I’d skip the hotel. The service and atmosphere were fantastic, but the room let the stay down.

The whole wedding at Borgo Iesolana was perfect, and we’ll remember it for a long time. The setting is beautiful, the food was lovely, and the staff made it especially memorable. It was a great stay. I’d have liked more variety at breakfast, and a shared room with a fireplace would be lovely during the colder months.
